સત્યની પરખ :-
હંમેશા સત્યની પરખ થાય એટલે કે સત્યને કસોટીની એરણ પર ચડવું પડે. સુવર્ણનો રંગ પીળો અને પિત્તળનો વર્ણ પણ પીળો, તો બંનેમાંથી શ્રેષ્ઠ ધાતુ તો સુવર્ણ (સોનુ) હોય છે. સુવર્ણને કસોટીના પથ્થર ઉપર ઘસાઇને તેના કેટલા ટકાની અસલિયત છે તેની સાબિતી આપી દેવી પડે છે. હવે સોનું કસોટી પથ્થર ઉપર ઘસાવવાથી મનાઇ કરે તો તે શું સમજવું? તેને તેના મૂલ્યનું ભાન છે તો કસોટીએથી પસાર તો થવું જ પડે તેમાં આનાકાની ન ચાલે, નહીંતર અસલી હોવા છતાં પણ ખોટા ધાતુમાં ગણાઇ જાય.
English Meaning
The truth-test :-
Truth must constantly be put to the test; in other words, it must be evaluated. Gold is yellow in color and brass is also yellow in color, then also the best metal is gold. To determine the percentage of authenticity, gold must be rubbed on a test stone. What does it indicate that gold cannot be rubbed on the test stone now? It must proceed with the test without hesitation if it is aware of its value; otherwise, even if it is genuine, it will be regarded as a fake metal.
